Strategy

Unlike some of its large peers, this fund isn't afraid to completely avoid countries with debt that comprises a good deal of the market. Management sometimes overweights countries it favors and attempts to hedge such moves by shorting the bonds of neighboring countries that it believes to be relatively weak.  Read more

Curtis Mewbourne, co-head of the emerging-markets bond team replaced fellow co-head Michael Gomez as manager. Previously, Gomez took over from longtime manager Mohamed El-Erian, who left in early 2006 for Harvard Management Co., but since returned to serve as CEO and co-CIO.  Read more
