Osterweis Strategic Income's fees are falling but still remain high.

Like its equity-focused sibling Osterweis, this independent-minded bond fund isn't constrained by benchmarks. Management invests mainly in a range of corporate securities, including straight bonds, convertibles, and floating-rate loans, and uses the same emphasis on company cash flows and growth prospects employed by the equity team to uncover mispriced survivors in the fixed-income realm.  Read more

Carl Kaufman has run this fund since its launch in 2002. Before joining Osterweis Capital, Kaufman spent close to three decades working on the sell-side, mainly at Merrill Lynch where he specialized in convertibles and equity trading, and then at Robert Stephenson where he ran the firm's convertible desk.  Read more
