Janus Worldwide's new manager has made big changes in an attempt to turn the fund around. Will he be successful?

Laurent Saltiel took over this fund in mid-April 2009 from Jason Yee, who had struggled mightily since taking over the fund in 2004. Yee avoided most economically sensitive fare in the rally through 2007, but then compounded the fund's woes by buying financial firms such as American International Group AIG and Freddie Mac FRE, which then imploded in 2008's second half.  Read more

In April 2009, Laurent Saltiel replaced Jason Yee, who had run this fund since July 2004. (Yee also comanaged Janus Global Opportunities JGVAX; he has left the firm.). Saltiel, an analyst at Janus for seven years, has also managed Janus International Equity since its November 2006 inception.  Read more
